Are Christian Debt Consolidation Services Better?
Just like any other for-profit companies, debt consolidation companies need more customers. In their effort to attract customers, they have attractive sales pitches, such as:
“No worries – we will help you say goodbye to your debts once and for all,” “Let us help you consolidating your bills into one easy monthly payment without borrowing money,” etc. One of such sales pitches (or shall we say, marketing gimmicks,) is the “Christian” Debt Consolidation Services.
The Christian Debt Consolidation Services seems legitimate at first, but if you look into the sales process closely, you will start to see that the name “Christian” here is purposed to get people (especially those in Christian faith) confident about the service. In other words, seeing the “Christian” word will get things going in the customer’s mind and will help convert him or her into a paying customer.
The fact is simple – Christian debt consolidation is just another pitch to appeal and reach more customers, getting them into thinking:
- You have no other choice, and
- You think that they are legitimate and better than the other debt consolidation services.
People are buying into the idea that these Christian Debt Consolidation companies will “help” them – and the word “help” need to be explored more deeply.
To me, if I want to help someone in need of $10,000, I don’t ask one to return $12,000, knowing that he and his family are in financial problems – this is unethical and inhuman, if you will. Instead, I would give one the $10,000 and when one can repay the amount, I will tell him/her “Thanks for repaying.”
The question is, what if one can’t repay the amount? If you are genuine (especially for a company bearing the name “Christian” in the service offered) you know for sure that you might never be able to see your money again, provided the one you lend money to can’t repay you.
So, all in all, before you make a decision to take any services offered by any of the debt consolidation companies with the name “Christian” attached to them, make sure that you have done your homework and know what you are doing. Don’t let your debt problems blind you and get you into thinking that “Christian” debt consolidation companies are better than the rest.
