Having a Green Holiday
The environment is one of the more important aspects of life. Without the environment as it is or even preserving it things could change drastically for human life. While there are still those who debate global warming is happening, there is evidence to suggest humans have a huge impact on the globe. Weather is a good indicator of how things have changed, especially when one considers how long it can take some areas to get snow and how little snow they receive.
Anyone interested in a green Christmas can put aside cashadvance ideas and save a little cash, whilst saving the environment. Here are some tips for a Green Holiday.
- Reuse greeting cards: these cards have beautiful pictures and rather than throw them out you could turn them into gift tags. You do not need the inside saying or the written words, so why not use them if possible as tags?
- Wrapping paper makes a package look great, but there are other items you could use to hide gifts. Obtain fabric and yarn to wrap presents. These items can be reused for years. You could even use old towels, linens and other items you have at home. Add a few patches or drawings on the cloth and you have reusable Christmas wrap.
- Many cities allow you to recycle your trees. Look up where you need to take it and recycle it rather than putting it in the trash pile. It can be turned into mulch or other materials to be used.
- If recycling doesn’t work then get a tree you can plant at the end of the holiday season. You will give back to the earth by planting a tree and it will last longer.
- Thrift stores are a great way to recycle. Thrift stores have plenty of items you might be interested in or that someone you know would enjoy. Second hand does not mean that it is bad, just that someone else didn’t want it anymore.
- Create natural decorations over buying plastic and glass. Natural evergreen boughs and wreaths, beeswax or soy candles, and pine cones can all be used for decorating your home without spending money or adding more plastic to the landfill.
These tips are just some of the options you have to improve your holiday. The environment supports us, so why not support it by being all natural?
